Gun Drilled dies:

Gun-drilled die is one-part die, there is no parting lines. We can supply  not only round gun-drilled dies, but also oval dies, flat beam dies, square/rectangular dies, etc.

Compressing moulds:

Why Gun-drilled Die?

1.Good surface finish: No half-line left on the rods/tubes surface.
2.Easy to clean and set:
It takes only 1/3-1/5 time to clean and  set gun-drilled dies.
3.Long life-time:
Avoid damage along parting line. Generally, service time of  gun-drilled die is 1.5-2.5 times that of  parting die.
4.Avoid pultrusion failure: Parting die is more likely to cause pultrusion failure due to die error, un-proper die setting, accumulating of resin pieces along parting lines, etc.
5.More precise  profiles: In pultrusion of small rods, errors in die manufacture and setting may cause large fluctuation in rod diameters. Gun-dies decrease errors greatly.

Preforming system:

Besides formulation and heating control, preforming system is also criticle for successful and constancy pultrusion. Before entering die, impregnated fiberglass rovings and mats must be properly arranged and placed. un-proper preforming system causes failure of pultrusion, bad quality, and other problems.

Please note, preforming system is far from easy as most people think of. Firstly, it must be designed based on profile design to meet the physical requirements. Secondly, it must let all reforcements running freely and smoothly,  to avoid any breaking of rovings, mats or cloth. Thirdly, for dies with mandrels, the preforming system is the only device to keep uniform thickness of pultruded profiles. Im-proper preforming may cause eccetric and even breaking of pultrusion. Fourthly, for complex profiles, preforming system is a large challenge.

Tooling for compression process:
 

Compression is one of the most popular processes in composite products manufacturing. Compression moulds are mostly made from top and bottom parts, each part may be composed of one or several mould bricks. Heating system is also needed for comp-ression mould.

When compression, the mould is firstly heated to certain temper-ature, after filling the mould cavity with prepared materials (such as SMC, BMC, impregnated fiberglass materials, etc), mould cavity will be closed and compressing the materials. Curing will be taken place inside the closed mould cavity. After cured and cooled, the compressed composte parts will be ejected.

We are very expreeinced in design and manufacturing of compr-ession moulds. Once you offer a sample or a drawing, no matter what shape it is, we'll design the best mould and compress new samples for you.
