Pultrusion Mould Surface Polishing Influence Factors


FRP pultrusion mould surface in machining are damaged due to heat stress or other factors. And improper cutting parameters will affect the surface polishing. Surface of Electrical discharge machining are more difficult than mechanical processing or heat treatment, so it should be using the electric spark finishing before end of the electrical discharge machining, otherwise the surface hardening layer is formed. Such as the unproperly spark refinement rules will heat affected layer depth maximum to 0.4mm. The matrix hardness of hardened layer hardness is high and difficult to remove. So It best to add a rough grinding and provide a good foundation for polishing.

High quality steel is a prerequisite for good polishing quality, all kinds of inclusions and pores in the steel will affect the polishing effect. In order to achieve good polishing effect, factory must indicate polishing roughness grade in the beginning. When one workpiece need for mirror polishing, it must choose good polishing performance and already with heat treatment, otherwise it is not up to the expected effect.

If with improper heat treatment, steel surface hardness of steel will different and also affect mould polishing quality .

Due to polishing mainly rely on manual completion,so this is the main reason which still influence polishing skills.

Its generally believed that the surface roughness of pultrusion mould is influenced by polishing technology, in fact,good polishing technology need with high-quality steel and proper heat treatment process to get satisfactory glass steel mold polishing quality. On the contrary, if the polishing technology not good, even if the good quality steel can not get mirror effect.
